Dear Pollyanna and Goaltere Within 60 seconds of seeing your posts I got both. Fine clues but I was thinking political ministers. Thanks a lot

re Evita from earlier post - refers to elan vital (life force), add e (note) and drop the l. Can anyone help with 5 down?

I've got 5dn as LARGO, which I think is a musical term meaning broadly. It kind of fits in with 5ac (ie Little and Large), but I'm not 100% convinced.

Went with Largo also - inadequate because should be little and large?

Thanks Peterm and Ixion - don't really understand this but that's me done! I also recommend this month's Genius by the Rev. I've always been afraid to try but it's great fun.

That's why I'm not 100%, but can't see what else it could be.

this clue/answer bothers me a Little too.
Largo(in music),"play slowly or broadly"
Little and Large(comedy duo).
large becomes largo - why?

Broadly = Largely (inadequate = incomplete)
e.g. 'broadly speaking' / 'by and large'

And of course it can't end it 'O' due to 11A
