Can I ask for help please?

I’m looking for a way in.

9a Frank, Barney’s suitor (9)

It’s not an anagram as far as I can see, but other than that I’m lost!

The suitor isn't at all romantic, just someone pursuing a legal suit, case. The first chunk of the answer is a five-letter word for 'frank', the second is an everyday, casual word for a 'barney', argument etc.
