A nice grid fill, but it’s very GWITty after that. I can see a connection between the top and bottom, and between the two sides, but neither connection leads me to any highlighting, nor to the central letter. What am I missing (apart from half the clues in IQ, but that’s a separate story)?

Funnily enough I had read about that in Wiki but had failed to get from there to the required highlighting (the “numerical” part of which I have, but the other - presumably the location’s former name, which has the right number of letters - remains to be discovered).

Stupid of me, having found the location and filled in two of the barred off cells not then to twig that highlighting was needed.

I have si?on (assuming my crossing letters are correct). Can anyone give me a gentle nudge? Please

An enjoyable respite from a challenging Listener. (I haven’t looked at the IQ yet.) 2d was a hoot.
