ilippu, where did you see the Tyrus (Indy) puzzle?
The web page I use still has Friday's (customary) Phi as most recent.

Indy expects your device time to be equal or ahead of London time to see that day's puzzle.

You can temporarily change your time; I have another device set to another time zone.

Thanks for the tip. I suspect Private Eye does the same thing, as I can't see their fortnightly puzzle until Friday morning US East Coast time.

Reading the "when" in 26A as "during which" is helping me. Googled the answer and learned a new meaning for it in the television production context.

Thanks, Brendan
Didn’t have a dictionary to hand, and internet search gave me only a hint of the railroad.

Hi akg
You’re quite right. I dredged up the TV context when solving, but didn’t have the precise meaning in my mind, which, as you say, does require the ‘when’.

Tyrus -

The grid suggests nina, and Tyrus often includes one.

I'm guessing that it will be some kind of farewell as Indy is shutting down cryptics.

Thanks Akg,

Chambers actually has that interviewer definition but, naturally, I didn't look closely enough!

Hi ilippu
I didn’t know that Tyrus was Vlad. That explains the level of challenge: a much-needed workout after Maskarade.
Thanks also for pointing out the nina potential. Not in fact a reference to the very sad impending demise of the Indy cryptic, but rather a comment on the effects of privatisation (particularly pertinent given recent news about a certain utility provider’s request for another enormous bail-out)
