The third (I think) puzzle this week marking this particular anniversary. Not that that’s a complaint. Good fun I thought, if somewhat on the easy side.

I'm afraid this one was just too easy and too similar to the other puzzle I completed only days ago. Although I am not a fan of the theme, the anniversary deserved to be marked - just a pity that a form of muscle memory kicked in this morning and filled in all the familiar thematic entries. And the 'somewhat easy' aspect meant the rest of the puzzle was over very quickly.

Yes, I know many people will totally disagree - but my experience was so far from Jono's I felt it necessary to comment. A very recent thread on fifeensquared has shown me how good it is to actually see a range of views!

I was not aware of the anniversary, although I did note the theme appearing in at least one other puzzle.
Agree that this was very easy, however.

All done and blogged. I got the Australians and consequently 17d before solving many of the more obscure solutions. But I grew up with the theme and have kept many children - and adults amused by it.
