I’m abroad trying to access this week’s puzzle via my Times subscription in the Times app, but getting a 404 error. Anyone know another way to get it?

I normally print from my laptop on Saturday, but I have just accessed the puzzle on my fire thingy. So it seems OK.

This is a tough puzzle. I believe I have a final grid, but as I can't solve 1across I am not certain. Appreciate it's early for hints, but a nudge would be appreciated in due course.

An excellent puzzle, and to me quite a bit tougher than other recent offerings. G&T stuck the landing, but at times I had my doubts. He certainly didn’t make things easy.

It also took me ages to sort 1a, although it’s perfectly fair and supported. I would lean heavily on the presumptive correction (I had two viable candidates) and sort the definition first. The waters are further muddied by a coincidental surname that’s ultimately a red herring.

A brilliant puzzle.

That said. I can’t parse 32d
