14a - Rally those heading each new company before this period? (9)

I get the heading of 'each' and' new' followed by 2 letter 'company' and 3. letter 'period ' - but am totally baffled as to where the UR comes from.

Any ideas?

I think "company" gets thrown in with the first letters.
Parsing thus 1,1,1,3,3
where 3,3 is "this period".

I'm sure you're both correct in your parsing but I have serious misgivings about 'this' and 'our' being synonyms - even with the question mark.

Sorry, Mattrom - don't know what happened there!

.... but I do understand that you're saying it's the phrase 'this period' that equates to 'our age' which, with the ?, just about works.
