Holy Anthem

Back again looking for help.

I have got answers for all but 1 of the clues, figured out the quotation, found the unchecked letters but cannot figure out the name replacement.

The clue I don't have is:
9d Plurality of agreement in quiet book (5)
I have PA?N?

A push towards the name substitution would be great....I wondered about the composers....

Thank you for any help.

9. Your N is wrong, the is a Biblical one, ie the name of a Biblical book. The plurality of agreements sounds fancier them it is, just think treaties, formal agreements.

I forgot to say, for 9 - 'Quiet' is the usual one letter.
It's an EV crossword, so always worth checking the usual suspects when it comes to looking for things to highlight or, as in this case, change....

Thank you very much Malone.

Sorted now....had got 14a wrong but have seen the error of my ways and found the subs.

Grateful as always.

This EV certainly dated me. Ernst Fischer and “always, always ?????” rattled back loudly into my brain from decades ago. (The number of “?” is deliberately wrong.)

Fred108, thanks. Glad I could help. I didn't bother looking out my copy, so had no idea then if 9 D was involved in the replacement...
