The O and W are correct. Put a 5 letter word for some poetry in between them.

Further to parsing 23D my thinking is that ‘familiar film star’ is “sly” which is a nickname for Sylvester Stallone.

Hello all - stumbled onto this forum when trying to get help with the last PE crossword. I've been on-and-off trying (and utterly failing) this crossword since it started about 30 years ago. This year I finished it for the first time ever on no. 830.

Anyway, I got most of the way through this issues crossword, but got a but stumped on some of them (never even heard of the word that answered 4d) and the old word for 'b*stard' was a new one for me too.

But the one I really can't quite get is the meaning of the clue to 17d. I get the second half which is the anagram bit - but can someone explain why 'measurement' is 'en'?
