Thanks, jono. A while since I've done one of these so I enjoyed it. Completed but I can't see the wordplay for 34a and, to a lesser degree (ha!) 29d.

Reds are a certain French wine minus a US term for a town. Louisiana is just a generic place in America as far as I can tell to indicate the US usage.

29d parses as 1,2,1 which is in Chambers.

Thanks (again!), jono. Understand them both now. I had 29 wrong. I had the first letter as being 10 further down the alphabet. The first half of my answer looked 'French' and the whole word, using the adverb definition in Chambers, matches a word in the clue so I thought I was on the right track.
