I could literally ask for help with all the clues bar 3d, 6d, and 7d.

Brutally hard for me.

I have no idea. Can anyone point me in the right general direction please?

You need a board, a bit of wood (sometimes you can walk on it at sea) and put the abbreviation for college inside. You'll have a famous physicist.

I haven’t actually seen been try to fit UNI in and lots of other nonsense.

Druh6sm, thanks. Last night I just assumed C for College was fine - I was very relieved when I checked Chambers today and found it confirmed. I've probably seen it before, not very often - and some of these single letter abbreviations don't really register, I think I just absorb them!

College usually turns out to be "c" but sometimes it is a specific college. But I always try c first. Similarly with university.
