Finally the penny has dropped!

I was looking at a previous Guardian Prize thread and saw this again, realised I hadn't solved it, and so set about having another go.

I think my earlier attempts all ended in failure because I'd convinced myself there was a T in it from "close to sweet".

Looking at it again today with fresh eyes, and having disavowed myself of that notion, I finally noticed the reason why Malone might appreciate this particular clue.

Anyway, I got there eventually and, yes, it is a good clue 😄

I too was trying to use the T from 'close to sweet'. We should skip the 'great minds...' as someone could respond with '...and fools seldonm differ'.

I also had another look at the "Is Scotland empty"? thread, where I'd left a post suggesting you might be in Boston, given that Norah started the Listener thread.

I only mention it because I am, or at least I was, certain that you replied and mentioned inviting people up for haggis, or something to that effect, but I can't find that post anywhere and am now totally confused. 🤔

Yes. I think I said I'd be willing to organise haggis hunts if any visitors wanted- but I have no idea where I said this! It was at a point where my laptop was misbehaving slightly and so was the Forum ( for me, the blip was resolved).
