I've just returned to Massachusetts, where all the talk is about the Scottish invasion. The stadium where the World Cup games are being played is in my county, a twenty-minute drive from my house. There was a story about a flight to Boston on which every last drop of beer was internalized by the Scottish soccer fans (read: they arrived in the New World stinking drunk). My nine-year-old grandson has a soccer game in Jamaica Plain this morning (part of the city) and my daughter said she hesitated to go there because she heard that the Scots are partying hard in the neighborhood. They've made the Boston TV news. I think I'll stay off the roads for a while, and we should all lock up our daughters. Are any of you forum regulars over here?

Scots soccer fans are notorious for travelling abroad for a match and not going home for years 😳

My son in law and grandson are among the Scots fans. I think you’d find them both gey couthy.

raffles and jack: I'll keep an eye out for them. They're probably easy to spot; it's so much easier to moon in a kilt.

Aristo, on the plus side we could fly over to Glasgow and share a Madeira* with a lassie (who’s missing the bludger).

raffles: I might have said yes had we not recently returned from The Other Side. I've never been to Scotland!

Aristo, it’s a lovely place.
And since Ireland has imposed a ban on buying Skodas and Zetors, everyone here is rooting for Scotland.

I had to look those up! And yes, I know it’s lovely. I’ve never been to Ireland either, and my wife is Irish (hence my children too 😀).

You had to check them out 😉

Maybe that’s why we hit it off from the get-go: #I have nothing against your right leg…

Raffles - we’ll get our lass to trademark “Madeira” ASAP.
She actually married a Scot. None of us are football fans though, rugby’s the game.
