I would love a hint about 24a. I think I have the answer but can’t parse it.

Hi Evad. It's a double definition

Also I think 22 is fine - a good mode of self defence!

Great Spoonerism that.
Happy Sunday, all.

Thanks Everyman.

I've never been a fan of the 'primarily' clues unless the primarily indicator is well concealed. Perhaps not labelled 'primarily'!

That said, when one is stuck, it's a help.

Today I stared at a blank grid for ages.

Liked the spoonerism. Rhyming pair ok. Connection between last two down clues (in more ways than one?).

I note the Liz Truss comparison. Amused me.

Thanks Everyman. Online on my phone awful as usual.

Two and a half days quicker than last week for me, but still entertaining. I'm sure I have 20a right, and see the last word of the clue as the definition, but can anyone please help me understand the rest of the clue? Thanks!

Hi Bob, it’s an anagram of bargain, a Roman six and 3 alternating letters from butter.
