I have A * R * T * thinking ARTERY (Art for skill) Bloody thing . . but can't make the rest of it work.

25d Informal head (5) * O * C *
Have no idea...not even sure of what form 'head' takes . . . chief, main, or the slang ???..

Any top tips gratefully received.
