When I solve the Genius crossword I enter the solutions to all clues in the spaces under the blank grid. The grid is never filled. Is this normal?

Also, when entering a multi-word solution do you type the answer without spaces between words as you would enter it in the grid or do you separate the words.

I never receive confirmation that my entry has been successfully submitted. Is this normal?

Yes, enter the solutions in the form under your email (there’s no grid to fill).

The Guardian have told us before that they select an entry at random and then it is checked by a human being. So whether you use caps, lowercase or spaces is not important provided the entries are correct.

I generally do see a confirmation box stating that the submission has been successful, but I know experiences differ on this.
