Many thanks all for your contributions to this week's competition, including a last-minute supersubbie from you-know-who. There are always far more well-crafted clues than there are podium spots, so I'll just name my three favourites and trust that nobody sulks.

I particularly liked the conciseness and smooth surfaces of Amej@8 and Paul@20

My choice for top spot is a clue that stood out for being a little different. What looked at first glance like a simple off-the-cuff remark turned out to be unexpectedly difficult to interpret. Being totally unfamiliar with this particular music genre and its artists, I failed to see the reference and spent a long time staring blindly,trying to see the wordplay. Without the setter's hint I'd probably still be staring. And that misleading little comma, by the way, is exactly the sort of thing I enjoy in a clue.
