Grid filled, shaded things got, block encountered. Is the omission a word or a letter? The former is implied by the preamble but I’m blowed if I can see it. Usually when there are missing letters like this they are given in anagram form, but Kruger denies us this … favour, kindness.

The omission is a word, an everyday one....

Hello! I’m new to the EV forum. What’s considered a decent amount of time to let pass before asking for parsing help? Would Monday be too soon?

Rather than debate such delicate “ethical questions” here, I would try the Big Dave site, where actual help is available.

Bathmatters, as someone one said - Hello, good evening and welcome!
I don't think you need to worry about a 'decent amount of time' before asking for parsing help. Norah, the site administrator, reminds us all occasionally that this is a crossword help forum - and crossword help is what can be given.

Because of its toughness and its 'unique' status, the Listener puzzle is the only one where Forum members are told not to give answers.

I defer to Malone who is entirely right, For Telegraph puzzles, particularly the EV, the Big Dave site is also (not “instead” - I stand rightly corrected) helpful.

Jockie, I couldn’t possibly fill the perimeter without knowing the omission word. Each member has the omission word associated with it.Maybe you have made a mistake somewhere because the omission word is easy to find in the grid

I have a full grid, all 6 members and the omission but can't work out the unclued entries. Can someone explain their significance?

Lulu, the unclued entries could all be clued by the name, the person, involved in all of the 6 members....
