Oh I see it, it parses 1,4. I didn’t know the 4.

Many of Chambers’ so-called “Scottish” words are regional or even more local. Here in the west, a not dissimilar word with the same meaning is in daily use but has a completely different vowel sound. I have never heard of this version till today.
