A fine puzzle, just a pity about the Marmite theme!

Malone, not a theme of interest to me either and the names meant nothing (except the last in other contexts). Google to the rescue.

Teenieleek, thanks. I was quite happy to declare my lack of interest in the theme, even though I expected to be in the minority. I thought there would be plenty of fans for the subject matter. And to be fair, the puzzle came together quite neatly, was well put-together etc.
