Please can someone parse 2D?

A passion about Cambridge University after elevating radio slot.

The answer is airtime I think (radio slot) but I don't understand how to get there. Many thanks.

Houndsditch, looks like A and IRE round MIT reversed (presumably it’s a down clue so “elevated”).
