How on earth does 10D lead to Spoonfeed?
Please also parse 27 dollar

SPOONFEED plumbs new depths of contrivedness.

“Baby” is the definition, but used as a verb.

The priest who messed up speaking is SPOONER. “Briefly” indicates the last letter is removed (yet another bloody deletion). Iron is FE (the chemical symbol for the element), and Duke is just D.

Thus: SPOONE(R) FE D.

Meh.

DOLLAR = buck

Excessive dose = OD (a recognised abbreviation for OVERDOSE.

Becoming slower = RALL (short for RALLENTANDO, a musical term for slowing down).

The whole thing is then reversed (turning up, this being a down clue).

About halfway through this stinker I binned it.

Or as a cruciverbalist might say:

What the setter is taking from parsed, I couldn’t be (5)

I agree that there's some pretty contorted clues in this one, but the parsing of 11D eludes me entirely:

Allowing relations to bury Ophelia's heart underneath where she died (11)

I _ T _ R _ C _ I _ E

I'm pretty sure the answer must be INTERACTIVE but why?

Yes, Bilbow, it is INTERACTIVE. The parsing is off the scale.

Allowing relations = INTERACTIVE

Bury = INTER

Ophelia's heart = E (the middle letter of OPHELIA)

Where she died = ACT IV (of Hamlet)

Merry Christmas!

Did she die in ACT IV? Ifv so then it's...

INTER + ACT IV + (oph)E(lla)

OMG! Never in 100 years would I have guessed Act IV. Thank you all. (And compliments of the season!)
