One voter to go. Two clear leaders but too close to call between them.

Thanks to the 12 entrants.
Feared it wasn't the greatest word, but there were many ingenious and funny clues. I was pleased to see Chinaski and Ry Cooder, among others. The prizes were chosen ahead of time, but there's a funny coincidence.

Seventeen clues got votes.

Bronze: wil @11 with 8 votes

Silver: geting @24 with 11 votes for the elegant acrostic I principally fetch and carry, tackle onerous tasks - usually menial

Winner: amej@14 with 12 votes for the brilliant Certainty back to uncertainty Jeeves?

Congratulations to amej. Thanks again for the entries.

Congrats amej and thanks geeker.

Could someone explain Chinaski, please? I Googled, but didn't find anything relevant,

chris, Chinaski was the alter ego of writer Charles Bukowski, who worked a lot of menial / dead-end jobs. The AI blurb in response to Google search mentions this.

I've actually read a moderate amount of Bukowski's prose, but not his poetry. Likely to be a polarizing figure.

Congrats Amej. Thanks Geeker - enjoyed the clips (I could write a page about how Fleming got the name; Goldfinger).

Like Chris, I’m scratching my head, and also, as a big fan of Ry Cooder, I don’t get it!

Thanks to Tyke, Chris and Swarb for votes.
