Chambers defines wax as "wax3 (old informal) noun A passion, a fit of anger". So the usual one letter "with" + 3 letter "wax"

Have not commented before, as I found this rather more straightforward than many of Jonathan's offerings. However, a query for anyone who might know. We are now getting 1 Azed plus 3 Gemelos a month. Will the Azeds always be plain, or can we expect some of his other challenges - Playfair, Printer's Devilry, etc? I very much relished the latter.
