The second clip in particular was fascinating, especially the ones that put out frilly "petticoats". I wonder what their function is? I don't think any British fungi have those structures.

Excellent, geting. Thanks for hosting, mattrom, and for the votes, geeker, wil, and jono. (I could so picture it; for some reason I was thinking UConn Huskies rather than UWashington!)

Here’s the site of the first controlled nuclear reaction. There’s a commemorative Henry Moore sculpture there. My daughter’s residence hall was right nearby.

The Maralinga nuclear test was a surprise to me. I wonder if it inspired Nevil Shute's On the Beach - an underrated work imo
