Aristo: terrifying and then some - and rewarded with a part in the remake, but he’s the epitome of evil as the faux preacher. The scene with him and Lillian Gish on opposite sides, but singing from the same hymn sheet, is Cinema Gold - up there with Chaplin eating his ‘spaghetti' boot laces or the opening scene of Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds (with a lovely homage to Shane - the silhouette in the doorcase).

This is always a pleasure. There are so many nice touches. I especially liked ginge @20 with his “thereunder” wordplay (although I had to ask him for help!), jono @27 with his superb “editor’s first and final cut”, tyke @32 with his tinkle in the thunderbox, and buddy @37 with The Tin Drum.
