Bren, you’ve reminded me that last Saturdays ‘s prize used two different meanings of Hamilton (show and president), so it’s perhaps it’s rather mischievous to throw in a third one this week!

Good point Jono, I completely missed that and agree it would definitely add to the difficulty in discerning it's specific meaning here.

Can’t say I enjoyed this ,it was a hard slog ,just glad to have finished at last .

2d - reverse hidden - Scottish word for a leather strap hence "striker"

1a - 4 letter "creature coming to light" then 3 letter "age" goesr around a 5 letter anagram/"bum"

1d - 3 letterr "being" + 5 letter "wait" minus its last letter/"interminable"
