Well, I seem to be in a minority of people for whom the 2 "instructions" appear utterly vague. The first three words could also be decribed as 'all integers from zero to infinity" - how is that an instruction?

Despite even more grid-staring and Malone's and Jack Aubrey's generous hints I'm still nowhere near the 11 cells to be highlighted. I can see a possible 4 letter word (noun) or 6 letter word (adjective) going diagonally upward which would certainly fit the theme but nothing parallel to that or crossing it which would. I'll give my eyes another rest then go back to it.

Brendan, zero does not fit the criterion but rather amazingly the alchemy works with any other number that you’ve described.

Brendan, I ignored the instruction completely - I could barely understand the words, let alone the sense. The information contained in the preamble was enough for me to get this finished fairly quickly.

Alwayspuzzled, for the cells to be highlighted, the wordsearch approach worked pretty quickly - especially if you're a crossword regular....

Your 6-letter adjective could be crucial...

I'm the same AP: I can see the obvious 4 letter noun and 6 letter adjective but that's about it.

You're right, I should have put 1 to infinity but, that faux pas aside, I have no idea which 'integers' it's referring to: clue numbers, ones spelled in the grid in English or maybe in another language?

I may have to admit defeat on this one 😥

Thanks again Malone. I was looking for something which crossed the 6 letter word. I should have seen the 5 letter one long before I did as I'd already googled the significance of the circle and line in relationship to the theme.
