Many thanks to everyone who took part in this week’s challenge. With
hare as our chosen word, contributions came bounding in from all directions - packed with inventive leaps, sharp turns of phrase and a lively spirit of play.
I thought Raffle's Herr/Wehrmacht combination very good and am pleased he tweaked it with a definition. Also enjoyed Swarbrule's 'great vowel shift', Aristo's 'is, for many', Paul's 'confusion and surprise', Amej's 'runner ahead', and much much more.
My runners-up in no particular order and for varying reasons are Ginge@28, Jono@61 and Geeker @45
With so many nimble entries, the field was always wide open and judging wasn’t easy. In the end however, the winner by a "hare’s breadth'' - for a thematically resonant surface and surgically precise wordplay - is Wil@19
Animal’s charred after being skinned and gutted (4)
Congratulations Wil!
