Thanks to all for competing in this week’s Clueless. Far too many good clues for me to be able to mention them all here - see below for my shortened, but not so short, short list.
Raffles@3 has an excellent surface.
Amej@6’s anagram works very well for me.
Geting@10’s surface is also very nice and is well constructed.
Swarbrules@14 paints a vivid picture with a good variety to the clue.
Jono@17 - Ampleforth’s opening pair is great.
Jono/Paul@21/22 are both equally strong clues with equally concerning surfaces.
Tyke@26 is a nice definition, which I’ll admit did take me a second.
Paul@28 is very enjoyable.
Buddy@31 is incredibly neat and succinct.
FJ@32 is impressive and a good anagram find.
Aristo@35 fits a lot in for so few words, and increasingly feels like an &lit.
Jimmy@38 once again has a very clean surface.
Very tough to decide a winner, but after deliberation I’ve gone with Aristo@35, perhaps because it seems very apt for the topic at hand.
Late morning, in half state of breakdown (11)
Well done, and thanks again all for competing and for your kind messages!
