paul, I don't know the band enough to even recall one song...only thing I recall is one time long ago they were on the David Letterman TV show and he made a joke about them "taking some time off from fighting foo" (or the like). I thought "foo fighters" was just a nonsense expression until reading your post.

I think that originally Foo Fighters were rapidly moving lights seen by pilots in WWII. I don't think it was ever established what they were. The band obviously took their name from them.

I know nought of their music and have no wish to but I do know that Foo Fighters were formed by Dave Grohl after Kurt Cobain's suicide.
