raffles @40
When I saw all the clues using Jesus as the definition, I Googled, and most of the hits agreed that he was in fact a carpenter (some suggested general handyman). Mind you, based on what evidence?

Chris - I believe he set off at age 13 on his religious travels. Even Joseph’s status is in doubt as 'carpenter' is a seemingly a misinterpretation of the Hebrew word for 'builder'. And some claim there was no timber in the area at the time - all building was with stone. But you are correct; who knows? Maybe Mary is the only one who had wood😂

Geeker - Christopher Wren wrote that for cash, as a joke😉

Cash also sang about the 40 shades of green - I rest my case😁

Obviously the fishing boats of the period were also made of stone - they caught mainly rockfish.

raffles@45: You won't be surprised that the song "Jesus was a carpenter" (not necessarily the J. Cash version) is a mainstay of US fundamentalist churches.

Indeed, the cedar, from the Lebanon, was used for more important things than building

No offence taken, raffles.
Better not to discuss religion here, but I am no "evangelical"/"fundamentalist"/whatever.
