Congrats sam and thanks aristo (break a leg!)

I've managed never to have heard of Peyton Place. Was it a US soap series?

chrise: It was a blockbuster novel about the underbelly of a small New Hampshire town, then a movie starring Lana Turner, then a hugely popular prime time soap opera (in the sixties) starring Mia Farrow and Ryan O’Neal. My parents wouldn’t let us watch it; way too racy.

It’s part of the American vocabulary, as in “it’s a real Peyton Place.”

Congrats Sam and thanks Aristo for the challenge. I’m not sure Peyton Place showed over here but as a film title it rang a bell.
Good luck with your concert today!

Nice one Sam! Thanks Aristo - I had you in mind when I came up with the interval clue. Enjoyed the clip - proper barn find town. I thought 'Once A Tree' was a bookshop😁 until I looked it up.

One of my boyhood memories is my mother and her sister discussing Peyton Place in hushed tones……then rushing off to Confession 😂

A big thank you for my 9 votes👍
