Thank you Terry. What a courteous person you are. My "sigh" was meant for emf, who omitted the clue (probably in frustration).

no i had hoped suki could explain as we appear to share same crossword and find similar problems with clues. any help is welcome

It must be better then to ask somebody who doesn't share similar problems. As the Judge says the clue should always be given. After all Suki (or whoever) may have had to get back to the massage parlour.
