Thank you everyone for your submissions to this week's competition.
Plenty of sharp wordplay - including a haiku no less - from the usual gang, but my favorites are two clues that are quite opposite in style.
I admire the complexity, the many different elements of Eider @27 and it comes a close second

Real victory against Barcelona finally secured by belter I hit (9)

However, in a world that seems to have become strangely fragmented and hostile this year, I feel Paul @7 provides a much-needed touch of simplicity (in a good sense) and fun, and this is therefore my pick
