Ding ding ding!
Time’s up.
Sooo many good ones. Tied for second are raffles and paul with two votes (although the latter had three all told). Our winner with four is the Gothenburger geting
@26:

Hideous Hackney: What could pull it around? (7)

Worthy indeed. The prizes are bits of Lovecraft, Blackwood, and LeFanu.

Well done Geting - very nice. Thanks Aristo for the word choice!

Big thanks to Geeker and Paul for restoring faith in my concomitant crudity - my favourite phrase from Kind Hearts & Coronets; which is like picking a winner here today - spoiled for choice! My ambition is to become stunt double for Anus at Viz.

A well deserved second Paul - I’m happy with turd😁

Thank you Chris, Raffles, Amej and Spike for the votes. I was quite dubious about the clue so to actually win was a nice surprise.
Thanks for hosting duties Aristo and for the prizes. I've not read any of these authors but Lovecraft sounds quite intriguing, I think I'll give him a try
