Sorry, already decided B was wrong and replaced with D. Only one word fits but I can't parse.

Not a puzzle I do, but would “party trick” work for the first one to match with “sponger”, which looks right? Trick for dodge looks better than piece

SPONGER looks good. What letters does that give you in the other one?
