Having spent an eternity on this, still can't see these:-
38 Down - "Vile knitwear one drops in chute" (4,6) -A-E -U-P-R
("JUMPER" is in there somewhere, I imagine)

43 Down - "Malicious flying bomb to be destroyed" (8) -I-E-I-H
(VIXENISH? - Is there a flying bomb called a vixen?)

50 Down - "Lots of deliveries during term for boarders?" (5) O-E-S
(Surely "OVERS", but where do "boarders" come into the
reckoning? I can't find anything to tie in "boarders" with "overs"

43... and Viperish, malicious.
38 D. Base = vile and Jumper = knitwear. Base jumpers parachute (so 'chute') from low-level objects....

50d is OVERS. It’s over = during, as in over the holiday period, plus the term (last letter) of boarders.

Many thanks for your help, Malone. Just the "OVERS" one to ponder over now.

Rocketman, glad I could help with those two. The 'Overs' clue puzzled me too, but I just stuck in the answer anyway. Quisling, thanks for the parsing.

28d Fall out of bed, turning over fourteen pounds towards scam (4,1,4,3,2).
Looks like 'Pull a fast one on' but I can't begin to parse it.

It is. Fall up (out of bed) turning over = PULL A F, then A STONE (fourteen pounds) ON (towards). Scam the definition
