10d Proceeded with punishment from coach, entering river backwards (7)
E?A???D

Enacted? Exacted?

41d Animal worker in rush to get rid of last big fish (9)

Looks like zookeeper but I can't parse it.

10 you have the river Dee backwards, but I can't see what the punishment from the coach is

41 ZOO(m) is rush to get rid of last, but I don't see why KEEPER is a big fish. Even if it's a poor homophone for kipper, they aren't big!

41 I think this is ZOO(m) + KEEPER (an important person e.g. per Chambers, the “Lord Keeper of the Great Seal”, so a big fish)

10 Punishment from coach is LAPS (e.g. of the playing field) and the river is DEE

Thank you both. Ref 10d, I don't like elapsed as a synonym of proceeded.

In my Chambers (CD-Rom) the Thesaurus gives "pass" under "elapse". The Dictionary gives "pass on" under "proceed".
