Athletics: Sam Ruthe, a 16-year-old Kiwi, recently ran a 3:48 mile, indoors no less. This broke the all-time NZ mile record formerly held by John Walker.
I've just been reading about concern in NZ about people emigrating to Australia. When this came up a few years ago, the then PM (I can't remember who it was) commented
"No problem - it increases the average IQ of both countries"
