One of the easier end inquisitors but I am short of one clue answer : 10d ) For Spenser, call a groom outside to plaster with dung(7) -there is an additional letter to be ignored in the word play . Thanks

It's an uncommon spelling of an old word meaning "to call".

There's a four-letter word meaning "to coat with cow-dung" inside the last three letters of a four-letter word meaning "a groom for a horse".

I imagine if you're at the end, that you've already worked out what the missing letter at the beginning is.

Thanks to Chalicea for another fun puzzle with a lovely quaint an amusing theme.

I had actually made an error in 11d by putting COOK meaning "to dart in and out of sight" (Scot.) which I thought was a good enough definition for "in Perth dodge" - luckily the highlighting of the name included the incorrect first letter, thus saving my blushes 😳
