I also see nothing wrong with using these definitions. Language generally changes at a slower pace than society and these words are still very much around even though the ideas they represent may be dated.

I'm of German and Jamaican heritage, ended up in Sweden and became a national several decades ago. But as Chrise says, my schooling was indeed at Haberdasher Aske's in Sarf Lundun.
