Need help parsing:

"Cover reporting of foolish action in dotage (7)" (not sure whose clue or what number that is, and do not want to know)


"reporting" indicates a homophone, maybe? But I can't see (or hear?) it.

Ah - folly+age, perhaps?

Well, as the world burns and my country has no functioning government, we turn our attention to the important stuff:

As always, too many good clues to choose from. Most clues got a check mark on first reading for clever wordplay, so as usual (for me anyway) the second go-round focused on the surface reading. My final 4 ended up as mattrom 8, jono 9, tyke 14 and jono 29; further ponderation winnowed it down to tyke 14 and jono 29. After a great deal of hemming, but only a bit of hawing, (and looking up "litter" in Chambers), the large cash prize goes to tyke 14 for the smooth double def:

Why are the cars driving on the left in the firts clip? Don't you drive on the right in the US?
