Such a strange feeling being first to post. Good fun today. Usuals are there. Rhyming pair, a hidden, a primarily and a Spoonerism returns. Liked 20a as my COD. Now will try to get back to sleep before spending the rest of the morning adjusting lots of clocks. Best wishes to you all.

Not usually a fan of Spoonerisms, but I liked this one so I’m making it my COD. I also liked the slight variation on the first letters. Close to average level of difficulty overall I thought.

Yes I thought 20a was clever. The initial letter clue was unusual too. Finished reasonably quickly. Have a good (shorter) day everyone.

Enjoyed this, quality effort by Everyman IMO.
Took a long time to get 26, otherwise a quick solve.
Strange to see a triplet of Middle East clues (2 solutions and one related location in wordplay).
Liked 22 and the Spoonerism (usually struggle with them).

Good fun I thought. Not sure 20 is a term as such, it’s not in Chambers or Collins, but it is an accurate description I suppose. Amused to see our last Clueless word feature in some way. Now for Azed which generally takes the rest of the day.

Got there in the end! FOI 1a, LOI 5d. Google came to my rescue for the Spaniards.
Fun though :-)

Couldn't get the intersecting 12a ,11d and 26a.
As soon as I looked up 12a, I got 11d (the #8 was a good misdirection).
I wouldn't have associated edible leaves with what is in 26a.

Easy enough, but what is going on in 11d? If it's a snooker reference, it's just wrong!

Not snooker but pool. Even in the UK.

Thanks Geeker. I've played pool, but never with numbered balls (just spots or stripes).
