1d Record plays notable septet, including piano (5)
SPI?S. Can't think of any letter that will fit the wordplay? Could it be spins?
Thanks for any help

This crossword is far too hard for me but as a suggestion:
1d Record plays notable septet, including piano (5)

Notable septet= 7 deadly sins
p=piano (quiet)
Record plays = spins

Yes - it's referring to the seven deadly sins - and a record spins!

Struggling with the last (I hope!) clue.

35A - No longer recognize what's put in tin for honey?

?EETE

I suspect some letters are wrong but they all seem to fit other clues perfectly.
