Fairly straightforward I thought compared to recent weeks. No particular standout clues for me, though the long single word anagrams were neat, something Everyman seems to have been doing a lot of recently.

Agreed - it was my fastest completion to date, 45 minutes!
FOI 1a, LOI 5d. I almost went wrong with 24a being the wrong way round, but a better look at the clue soon sorted that.
I only have a problem with parsing 8d as there seem to be too many "E"'s.

Hi Smot, re 8d ‘regularly’ doesn’t have to be every second letter ;-)

Thanks Jono - makes more sense now. I'll have to watch out for that in future.

Morning all. A quick one indeed, except I’m stuck on 4, 5 & 10. Any hints?
Greetings from frosty South Devon

I tried ECHO first for 24a! (Reversed hidden, though definition a bit of a stretch...)
21d could also reasonably be either way round.

4 the setter's is a possessive, after last letters and america
5 "experience again" with an E inserted
10 posh coat, then cultivated as a farmer might have done, missing first letter

Hi Barry
4 Finally refers to end of words then American then setter to follow
10 Is something that happened in lockdown
5 Is to experience again around a single letter for earl

A quick solve today. I particularly liked the misdirection in 13 and also liked 1d for an alternative result for ‘students’ than the norm. The rhyming pair made solving the second anagram easier too. More time to read the rest of the paper now…

I also really liked the misdirection in 13d - that was my COD.

I also found this easier overall today, although 10a (my LOI) had me stumped for a long time until I read the hints on here. Didn't see the rhyming pair until the end.

Still don't really get how the last 3 letters of 4d equate to 'setter's'. Nor do I really get how the last 3 letters of 8d are extracted from the fifth word of the clue, despite what Jono said about 'regularly' not necessarily meaning every second letter!
