Is this 'no can do'? I'm struggling to make 'no' = 'other than'.

Thanks, I can see the (stretched) definition but not the construction, at least not how 'other than' gives us 'no'.

I think the construction works, though it feels a little off.

In a mathematical sense (Venn diagrams or Boolean logic, excuse possible pretentiousness),
"other than" seems equivalent to "not", which might be contracted to "no".
