What are the redundant words in these clues?

1a A short riddle like this (4, 2 words)
9d We will be released by sexy ale producers (5)
22d Entertaining pro, silly getting up before eleven (6)
32d Cassiterite, chemical most often first to rouse sound sleeper? (6)

I know the answers to the clues but I cannot parse the wordplay

I'm not familiar with the puzzle, but in 1a. 'this' is redundant.

After the four blocks have been used to reconstruct the central area are they now blank or do they keep their letters?

The pre-ramble notes that "all grid entries are at each stage real names or phrases/entries in Chambers" which would not be the case if the cells were blank.

Annoyingly I've a couple of loose ends where I can't see the wordplay, coinciding with bananabean below. Can someone help?

9d I presume it's an &lit clue, but can't see anything more than the obvious definition. I thought about removing 'we' from 'brewers' but that doesn't quite work.

22d I can see the definition at the end, but have no idea about the wordplay.

Thanks

22d is a bit crude - ho for 'pro' inside arse for 'silly' (with 'eleven' extra).

Thanks drxx, I did wonder about that, but I can't still can't find in my Chambers a meaning of 'ho' which aligns with 'pro'.

Ah well, not worth losing sleep over.
