Hi Loubyloo,
16a I think “having yen” makes it clear that the yen part is in the answer, but I agree 5d helps to confirm
2d ‘tactical unit’ is the Chambers definition of the homophone of the answer
3d is a cryptic definition (think biblical)
13d copper is the first letter, then it’s 2 letters inside a 7 letter word for directions
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the clarification of 13D, Jono. One day setters will run out of abbreviations for copper, but it seems that day has not yet come!

I found this on the easier side but still enjoyed it. Always helps when your FOI is 1a and you get the first of the long rhyming pairs.

All done except 5d.
I’ve got d-o-w-l, and am now wondering if the last letter is right as some people on here say it’s an issue.
Don’t know what else 16a can be though…..
Some help please

Hi Ruby. The definition of 16a is the first word of the clue.

Thanks Jono.
I can safely say that if I'd been locked up and only allowed out if I could explain 2d and 13d, I'll be inside for ever !
