Might be 'overburden', but I can't see how burden means cross.

Barbecue? Pub is bar, live is be, can't see the sign.

13 governor is he - his (or her) excellency, so governor's is hes, in taurus, a zodiacal house

Cue is the sign, signal,prompt etc.

a burden could be a cross to bear, but it wouldn't be an entirely fair clue

Loads of obscurities this week making it a largely tedious exercise in googling, eg hastate, orestes, lory, raceme, dis.

Chambers gives 'burden' as one of the definitions of 'cross', so it seems fair, reasonable.

8 Lobscouse, Liverpudlian stew. Lob, shy, toss etc and Scouse, Liverpudlian.
